Sanovus is an independently owned business dedicated to helping companies and safety professionals pursue safety excellence. It focuses on providing expert consulting services and professional development materials. It was founded by Donald “Don” Fritz, a Certified Safety Professional, as a means of advancing his skills, pursuing his passion, and giving something back to the safety profession.
The name, Sanovus, is a combination of the word safety (sa), and the Latin word for new (novus), the latter being the basis for the English word innovate. Hence the tagline, Safety Innovated. Sanovus aims to provide effective safety solutions based on new ideas, methods, and strategies to meet

About Our Founder
Don Fritz is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) who has spent over 25 years improving safety performance in heavy industries, including independent service providers for the power generation, oil and gas, industrial, and aerospace industries. He worked in Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) roles at all levels of the organization, including the business unit, divisional, and corporate levels. His experience includes safety oversight for both domestic and international businesses, and he prides himself on having repeatedly achieved annual double-digit injury rate reductions. He has a passion for helping others in the EH&S field develop their professional careers.
Mr. Fritz began his career in the U.S. Navy’s prestigious Nuclear Power Program. Upon graduating from the prestigious Navy Nuclear Power School, he was picked up as a junior staff instructor. He later served aboard a ballistic missile submarine. That experience served as a springboard to his long and fulfilling career in the power generation industry, starting in operations, then transitioning to Environmental, Health & Safety.
